I went to the beach on Friday with Serena, Dorinda, and Erika. We went to Carlsbad with all the kids. As you can see we had a great time.
Sophia and Madison discovered boogie boarding for the first time really. Every time we've gone to the beach before this the pretty much just played in the sand. But since their friends were there to show them how it's done, they learned to boogie board. They had a blast.
Sophia especially took to it right away. When She saw little Maddie could do it she ran right out to give it a try. She spent most of the afternoon on a board.
The younger kids did a lot of playing in the sand and just having a plain old good time.
We brought this little tent thing. Sadie and Tara sat inside it most of the time like it was their little house. They were very excited to get a couple sodas, that were just their size.
The beach we were at was great. It was pretty shallow so it was safe for the kids and let us keep a much better eye on them while they were out.
Madison didn't do quite as much boarding as some of the other kids but she spent alot of time with Kelly in the sand. But towards the end of the day she started going out with the other kids in the water.

Man, brings back memories to my old wrinkled brain! Mom used to say...don't go any farther than "the red umbrella" and the "lifeguard tower"...giving us bounderies to the north and south. That way, she knew where to look for us! My kids would LOVE the beach...esp. Carson and Logan...they'd be out there with Sophia all day. Jade would play on the beach with Maddy and maybe catch sand crabs, Drake would boogie board if there were no cute girls to watch instead! Funny how priorities change!
